Unusual Presentation of Papillary Microcarcinoma of Thyroid as Thigh Mass
نویسندگان
چکیده
An elderly otherwise healthy male presented with a mass in thigh. Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) revealed features of papillary carcinoma of thyroid, suggesting secondary deposits. Later the patient was clinically evaluated. There was no obvious thyromegaly both clinically and sonologically. The patient was followed up. One month after initial presentation, he came with an enlarged cervical lymph node and a tiny nodule in thyroid. FNAC from both the thyroid and cervical lymph node showed identical features of papillary carcinoma.

متن کاملBrain metastases with exceptional features from papillary thyroid carcinoma: report of three cases.
We present three papillary thyroid carcinoma PTC patients with brain metastases who are unusual in many aspects. The first case is a unique 3mm papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC) patient with metastases to the cerebrum and lung. The solitary cerebral lesion was identified by iodine-131 whole- body scan ((131)I-WBS) and (131)I single photon emission tomography/computed tomography (SPET/CT)....
متن کاملPapillary Thyroid Carcinoma Presenting As a Cystic Neck Lesion: Case Series
Introduction: Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) constitutes 75–85% of all thyroid cancers. This presentation of a cystic neck lump, without the presence of a thyroid nodule, may imitate the course of a benign disease, thus delaying diagnosis and proper treatment. Case Report: Thr...
